Farming, why not?

Being fond of technology, it was my childhood dream to be a scientist. Later on in my secondary years,  employment by the corporate world had attracted me more than any other because of the nice offices and decent looks of employees working in white-collared jobs. This has led me to prefer engineering course and farming to me at that time is only for those poor and uneducated people. But as I get older, I become more sold-out to the idea of farming either urban or rural farming with the highlights on organic means.
Before I just hated seeing earthworms, but when I understand how important they are to the soil, I can now appreciate them without any repulsion. In fact I am now raising my own African night crawlers (ANC).
Previously all I want to believe is that farming takes only soil. But now I learned that acidity, nutrients, moisture of the soil, etc. should be taken into consideration before expecting a good harvest.
What I like in farming is the fact of having the availability of  necessary ingredients in cooking my favorite dish, free from pesticides.
